KSCA is optimistic about the resumption of cricket activities in July
The Karnataka Cricket Association (KSCA) is confident about the resumption of cricketing activities in the state from July. The proliferation of the virus has resulted in the establishment of new regulations on health and safety to help contain the virus.
In view of the safety of the players, KSCA has decided to develop a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), which will set out the policies and procedures to be followed by the players.
In addition, the protocols state that the sporting authorities must comply with safety guidelines at a particular venue, including thermal screening, social distancing, and the provision of adequate medical facilities.
The KSCA also confirmed that it has mapped out a provisional revised itinerary for tournaments that could not be staged due to the pandemic. The decision comes after the government has given a green light to sporting events to take place behind closed doors. Nevertheless, the resumption of cricket activities depends entirely on the condition of the virus.
Earlier this week, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) mentioned that they are looking at the August-September window to resume outdoor training sessions for players.
