Eighth-placed Sunrisers Hyderabad will be clashing with ninth-placed Kolkata Knight Riders in match 47 of IPL 2023 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Kolkata have won three games from their nine encounters and have racked up a net run rate of -0.147 while Sunrisers Hyderabad have secured three wins from eight games at a net run rate of -0.57.

Sunrisers Hyderabad will be coming into this fixture on the back of a win against the Delhi Capitals in a high-scoring encounter. Abhishek Sharma smashed a 36-ball-67 while Heinrich Klaasen blasted an unbeaten 53 from just 27 balls. Mayank Markande and Abhishek Sharma shined with the ball as the duo shared three wickets at the expense of 46 runs from just seven overs.

Kolkata Knight Riders will be coming into this battle on the back of a defeat against the Gujarat Titans as they failed to defend a total of 179. Rahmanullah Gurbaz was the highest scorer for them in the last game with a knock of 81 from 29 balls while Sunil Narine’s and Harshit Rana’s economic display kept things under check, only for Vijay Shankar to explode in the dying embers and take the game away from the opposition.

The last time these two teams met, KKR bowed down to SRH after a clinical century by Harry Brook propelled SRH to 228/4. Chasing the humongous total, KKR did come close as they racked up 205 runs but half-centuries from Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh weren’t enough to seal the day for the Knights.
