Kevin Pietersen is the latest addition to the never-ending list of Virat Kohli admirers. Former England batsman has heaped praise on Indian and RCB skipper Virat Kohli, saying he always knew that Kohli was “destined for greatness”.

Speaking to Betway, the former England and Royal Challengers captain Kevin Pietersen said: “Sitting in the bus with Virat and batting with Virat, I knew he was destined for greatness because of how he approached the game and the way he learnt and the questions he asked.”

"He was a chubby little fella back then and I still take the mickey out of him for it. But his determination to be the best player he could possibly be was evident,” Pietersen added.

The very fact that Kohli has gone from being a “chubby little fella” to one of the fittest players in sports is a testament to his commitment to the game. The incredible work ethic in his game has given Kohli the recognition as one of cricket's all-time greats.

Pietersen further stressed the good relationship he shares with Kohli, as he said: "We do have an incredible friendship, probably because of the way I treated him when he was a youngster and how I helped and guided him at the start of his career.”

Kohli has amassed a humongous 5412 runs for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL, including an unprecedented 4 centuries in a single season of the IPL in 2016. The Royal Challengers Bangalore will be hoping for a repeat of the scintillating 2016 form by the RCB skipper in the upcoming season.
