Kane Williamson describes playing against Virat Kohli as 'fortunate'
Life has begun to change since the pandemic and we are now living in the new normal and with the use of technology, the cricketing fraternity have been able to interact with their fans and supporters. Interestingly, these social media live chats and podcasts have helped us understand our favourite players even better.
New Zealand skipper, Kane Williamson is the latest cricketer to appear on Star Sports' weekly talk show 'Cricket Connected.' The 29-year-old spoke on a variety of topics, including his camaraderie with Indian counterpart Virat Kohli.
“Yes, we are fortunate to play against each other. It has been great to meet at a young age and follow his progress as well as his journey,” Williamson said.
Presenter Jatin Sapru asked, "when would you say your friendship really blossomed?”
The Kiwi captain replied: “It’s been interesting, we’ve had to play against each other for a long period of time.
Kane Williamson explained how the two cricketers over the last few years have been able to find some common ground on what they both stand for: "But actually, probably over the last few years, we just shared our views on the game, some honest thoughts and found some common grounds and despite perhaps playing the game little bit differently in terms of physically and may be our on-field characters I suppose.”
The two best limited-over cricketers will go head-to-head again once the situation gets better. The event could be either the T20 World Cup or the Indian Premier League. The fans just can't wait to see these two clash yet again on the cricket field.
