Jasprit Bumrah becomes fastest Indian pacer to register 200 Test wickets
Jasprit Bumrah once again emerged as the Indian pace bowling spearhead as he registered four crucial wickets on the fourth day of the MCG Test, compelling Australia into an uncomfortable corner. In the process, he also became the fastest Indian pacer to register 200 Test wickets during the ongoing Boxing Day battle with his figures reading 4/56 at Stumps.
The humdinger feat registered by Jasprit Bumrah came within just 44 Test matches. With this incredible milestone, Bumrah also joined an elite clique of fast-bowling aces featuring Pat Cummins and Kagiso Rabada, who claimed 200 Test wickets from 44 Test matches.
Bumrah also registered the feat on his 8484th legal delivery in Test cricket, making him leapfrog the likes of Mohammed Shami, who achieved the same milestone from 9896 deliveries. Bumrah became the fourth-fastest pacer overall to rack up 200 Test wickets.
