Jamieson finally reveals what Kohli told him during RCB nets
“A lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes.”
It was not quite a lie, but a twisted narrative that established itself as a fact because of how the media played it across the world: Kyle Jamieson denies to bowl to Virat Kohli with the Dukes balls in the RCB nets.
That Jamieson went onto get the better of Kohli in both innings of WTC final only added spice to the matter. And collective intrigue of the fans, critics, and social media evangelists never allowed the facts to come in the way of a ‘good story’.
But as it turns out, Jamieson has now shed some light on the conversation between him and skipper Virat Kohli at the RCB nets.
“No, it wasn’t so much him asking. I think it was Dan (Christian) just sort of adding some stuff for a good story. We were just talking about it at the start of the IPL with the cricket coming up with our UK tour and theirs as well and I mentioned that I had some Dukes balls, he had some Dukes balls as well,” Jamieson told Sporting News.
“He just said look at the back end if we want to do some training, we'll do that but there was no specificity around me bowing to him or, or giving him a look, but whether he was insinuating something that’s something he could tell you but obviously quite a funny story that’s unfolded.”
Jamieson may have emerged as one of the most promising bowlers recently, but the RCB pacer from New Zealand has found himself giving a lot of explanations for something irrelevant instead of focussing on details of what’s been a wonderful year for him as a bowler.
