It’s Wise To Take A Bold Step Back!
By now most of the world is under lockdown. Cricket, like any other public gathering or celebration, has been put on hold. And RCB, in consultation with the BCCI and adhering to the guidelines issued by the health ministry, are sticking to best practices to prevent and contain the spread of an infection that has brought the world down to its knees.
Keeping in mind the safety of fans and players, the RCB management has decided to postpone its pre-IPL camp that was scheduled to start from March 21.
“It’s an unfortunate situation, but the safety of our fans, players, and the support staff is our priority. RCB has taken a conscious call to not bring the full squad together at this stage, but we are in touch with our players individually keeping them well informed and making sure they will be ready when called upon,” said Mike Hesson – director of RCB.
Across the world, some of the major sporting events have either been cancelled or are being held behind closed doors. Earlier, South Africa’s tour of India, and New Zealand tour of Australia was cancelled midway. The start date for IPL 2020 was also pushed to 15th April after advisories were issued regarding public gathering.
