It’s important to focus more on the process rather than results – Rajat Patidar
Rajat Patidar was one of the names that shone bright for RCB on a forgettable night at Wankhede. Blasting 50 from just 26 balls, an innings that featured three four and four sixes allowed RCB to stabilize the ship after a shaky start.
However, the fall of Patidar opened up the floodgates for the Mumbai Indians and barring Dinesh Karthik’s rollicking half-century, the rest of the team wilted under pressure.
Talking at the post-match press conference, Rajat Patidar opened up on his strategy before heaping praise on the batting unit of Mumbai Indians while reserving the highest of accolades for Jasprit Bumrah. Lauding Bumrah on his fifer, Patidar said, “He is a legendary bowler. I am no one to rate him. He’s a perfect bowler.”
He also shed some light on his own batting heroics, stating, “For me, it’s important to focus more on the process rather than results. So, I was trying to keep things simple and follow the process. Initially, my plan was to get set. The pitches in Mumbai have bounce and it’s good for the batters.”
He concluded by stating, “Mumbai batted well. A total of 196-200 was enough. We did not bowl well, and they got the advantage of dew as well.”
