It’s going to be an interesting and exciting challenge: Hanuma Vihari on WTC final
Hanuma Vihari missed the home series against England due to a hamstring injury, but the batsman is getting ready for the challenge away from home now.
Vihari, who made his Test debut against England in England in 2018 is a part of Warwickshire county, preparing for the World Test Championship and the five-match Test series against England.
The last time India played New Zealand in an ICC event, they were on the wrong side of the result. However, since Vihari plays just the longest format for India he was not a part of the World Cup team in 2019.
The 27-year-old is confident of the abilities of the team heading into the final of the marquee event.
"I am trying to prepare in the best way possible for the WTC Final and the England series. It's going to be interesting and exciting as well for all the Indian fans because it's the first edition of the WTC. We are in the finals and we are playing New Zealand which is going to be challenging in this condition," Vihari told India Today.
"We all know that but the Indian team can do outstanding things. I am sure that we'll be confident going into the WTC final. I am trying to prepare as best as I can for the WTC and the Test series after that," Vihari added.
The last time Vihari turned up for India, he put up a valiant effort against a fiery Aussie bowling attack to save the Test match in Sydney while battling an injury. Having ensured a head start with preparations in the county circuit, the ever-gritty batsman wants to leave no stone unturned in helping India script history in England.
