It's fantastic to see us making some records – IND-W head coach Amol Muzumdar
India-W completed a clean sweep of Ireland which saw them pocketing two ODI series on the trot, after having recently beat the Windies on home soil prior to the Irish challenge.
Indian women's team head coach, Amol Muzumdar, was happy with the performance of the team, and talking in a post-match interview, he highlighted that the positives from the series were overwhelming and he would love to build further on that aspect.
Muzumdar said, “We had a back-to-back series, against West Indies and Ireland, plenty of positives. The T20 series was competitive against WI and then we went on to whitewash WI in the ODI series. If you look at the positives, the batting looks fairly settled but we need to have another fast bowler as well.”
He continued, “We don't set targets at all during batting and we go as per the flow of the game. It's fantastic to see us making some records while I have been in charge. It's very satisfying but we want to continue the process.”
Muzumdar shared a note of applause for the batting department, stating, “It's a breath of fresh air, top of the order with Smriti, she is calm and composed and she looks settled. Hope it continues for a long time.”
He concluded by revealing why Richa Ghosh was promoted up the order in the 3rd ODI, stating, “When we had a decent start, 20 overs into the game and it was important for Richa to get an opportunity. Because Harleen has had her opportunity and Jemi also got a hundred so we pushed Richa up the order and she played really well today.”
