RCB chronicled their fourth win of the IPL 2026 season, a decisive 5-wicket victory against the Lucknow Super Giants to climb to the top position of the points table. With eight points and a superlative NRR of +1.503, they leapfrogged Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings (who play later tonight) to move to the peak.

An excellent bowling performance combined with a superlative batting finish ensured the fact that the Royal Challengers Bengaluru brushed aside the Lucknow Super Giants with relative ease.

Rajat Patidar played another incredible quickfire knock, hammering 27 off just 13 balls to propel RCB further forward in the hunt for their fourth win. Talking at the post-match presentation, Patidar opened up on RCB’s collective bowling strength and how Josh Hazlewood combined brilliantly with Bhuvneshwar Kumar in dealing crucial blows to the Super Giants.

Shedding light on RCB’s bowling performance, Patidar said, “It was fantastic. I think the good thing was we won the toss. And the way the fast bowlers hit the deck was nice to watch.”

Patidar picked up how good Pandya and Suyash were amidst the shiny performances of the others. Rapa said, “Even I don't know what Pandya's going to bowl next but I would say he's a very courageous bowler. And at the same time, Suyash's stump-to-stump bowling was tremendous to watch.”

Hailing the opening bowling stand between Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rapa added, “Of course, for a captain, if you have specialist bowlers in T20 leagues, it makes the job easier because you don't have to tell them what to do next. The experience and ideas are helping all the other bowlers as well.”

Phil Salt and Tim David pouched a couple of blinders in the field. Dropping a quick word about the catches and the title expectations, Patidar added, “From the start of the IPL, RCB is working on the fielding intensity. That was followed by (Phil) Salt and he usually takes those one-handed and flying catches. So, it was easier for him. No, it's a long way to go (on the title hopes). Right now, we are just looking one game at a time.”
