It was a good day for me - Rajat Patidar reflects on RCB's win over KKR in IPL 2025

Rajat Patidar started his captaincy reign for RCB with a resounding win over KKR. He himself was sensational with the bat, rocking a quickfire 34 off just 16 balls. The newly-appointed skipper whacked five fours and a humongous six as the KKR bowlers scrambled for shelter amidst a meteor shower of boundaries.
Talking at the post-match presentation, Rajat Patidar opened up on the overall victory, while heaping praise on his spinners who played a crucial part in turning the tide around in the first half of the battle. He also showered plaudits on Virat Kohli, reiterating the fact that he truly is one of the finest to have taken the yard.
Shedding light on his captaincy and the decisions he took, Rajat said, "There was pressure, but it was a good day for me. If we keep winning like this, it will be a good day. It was pretty clear for me - I don't mind Suyash giving runs, he was our main wicket-taking bowler, so I backed him."
Highlighting the role played by the spinners, Krunal Pandya and Suyash Sharma, Patidar added, "All credit goes to both the bowlers, from 13 overs, they showed courage and determination. The mindset of taking wickets was really amazing."
Talking about Virat Kohli's unbeaten half-century, Rapa pointed out, "It's really great when you have a player like him, it's a great opportunity for me to learn from one of the great players of the game."
