It looks beautiful – Rohit Sharma captivated by the looks of Nassau International Stadium

As the T20 World Cup is almost upon us, Team India is all set to play their first warm-up match and it is against their neighbours, Bangladesh. With the match slated to be played at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, the Indian cricket team will be hopeful of establishing a familiarity with the ground ahead of their prized journey in the biennial extravaganza.

They will be kick-starting their World Cup campaign with a clash against Ireland in the same venue on 5th June before they square off with their arch-rivals, Pakistan in the same ground.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma was mighty impressed with the venue and in a video for ICC, he emphasized the importance of fans and also the adaptability to the ground conditions ahead of the crucial fixtures.

Rohit said, “It looks beautiful. It’s quite an open ground and in the coming days we are going to get to see the stadium. We are going to play our first warm-up game here as well. So try and make the most of the conditions, get players used to what it’s going to be like on June 5th when we play our first game.”

He concluded by saying, “We are getting the feel of the ground, the pitch and stuff like that. People in New York will be very very interested in coming and watching the World Cup. All the fans of various teams are quite excited and looking forward to this tournament and we as players can’t wait to get started.”
