It all depends on the workload: Rohit Sharma underlines India’s rotation system for the upcoming Tests
As India gears up for the upcoming Bangladesh challenge in less than two days’ time, Rohit Sharma appeared for a media conference to address a few questions that loomed large. One of the major points that was being addressed by the Indian captain was that of how India is going to be mentally prepared after almost a month of break from international cricket.
Rohit Sharma said, “We are starting after a long time actually. We have laid out some plans on how we are going to manage these bowlers. But again, it all depends on the workload that has been carried by them in these games. So yeah, we will monitor that. I think we have done that pretty well. Even when we played against England [at home, earlier this year], we managed to get Bumrah one Test match off. We managed to give Siraj one Test match off.”
He further added, “So it all depends on how the body feels at that particular time, what the [strength and conditioning] is, and what the physios feel about them, when is the right time to give them a break from the game, and then take the call."
India will be playing two Tests against Bangladesh before locking horns with New Zealand for three Test matches which will be the final dress rehearsal for Team India ahead of their latest Australia tour where they will be playing five Test matches this year instead of the usual four.
