A trail of records tumbled at the Zahoor Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium as Ishan Kishan put up a performance for the ages, leaving Bangladesh stuttering and stammering, twisted in a knot that would need some time to be unravelled.

It was a cracker of a double-century that saw sparks flying in every nook and cranny of the park while Virat Kohli played spectator at the other end before unleashing a monstrosity of his own, propelling India to a staggering 409.

After the match, the Mumbai Indians southpaw opened up heartily about his masterclass with a broad grin across his face. Talking at the post-match conference, Ishan Kishan said, “It was a perfect wicket and situation to bat on. I was just looking to watch the ball properly, and go with the flow.”

He further added, “At this level, whenever you get the chance, you need to make the most out of it. I was just picking the ball and the bowlers, and things were going my way! Our trainer and physio are taking care of everyone."

This double-century can be a game-changing affair for the hard-hitting left-hander. He has always been touted as one of the finest youngsters on the rise. This knock would give him a lot of confidence for the forthcoming days as India’s preparations for the upcoming World Cup in 2023 have already begun.
