In an unfortunate development, IPL 2025 has been suspended for a week and the announcement was made by the BCCI after consideration of the growing tensions.

BCCI said in an official press release, “The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to suspend the remainder of the ongoing TATA IPL 2025 with immediate effect for one week. Further updates regarding the new schedule and venues of the tournament will be announced in due course after a comprehensive assessment of the situation in consultation with relevant authorities and stakeholders.”

As things stand in terms of the points table at the time of the halt, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru are currently stationed in the second position with 16 points from 11 games.

RCB have also won six away games so far and will be on the cusp of creating history if they can secure another away win once the season resumes. Virat Kohli is RCB’s leading run scorer with 505 runs while Josh Hazlewood is the leading wicket taker for the team with 18 wickets this season.
