IPL 2020: Vivo to remain as title sponsor
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced at its governing council meeting on Sunday that Vivo would remain the title sponsor for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League. Following the India-China border scuffle, the board was determined to resurrect IPL's various sponsorship deals.
Speaking to IANS, A BCCI official confirmed that the sponsorship agenda was also addressed at the meeting, and the decision to retain Vivo as the title sponsor was reached with the consensus of all the members.
"The BCCI has taken this decision after the perusal of the sponsorship agreement and the ownership pattern and upon receiving legal advice in the matter," the official was quoted as saying to ANI.
The Indian Government on Sunday granted approval for the Indian Premier League to be held in the UAE. A wide range of agendas were assessed at the meeting, with safety protocols and bio-bubble mechanisms being the primary subject of discussion. The two-month-long cricketing extravaganza is all set to commence from September 19th with the final scheduled on November 10.
