On Saturday, India will clash with arch-rivals, Pakistan, for a blockbuster clash in the ongoing World Cup. Both the teams have started on a brilliant note, clinching victories from their first two games. India swatted aside Australia and Afghanistan while Pakistan got the better of Netherlands and Sri Lanka.

However, whenever these two sides meet, history gets thrown around pretty frequently and from India’s top wins to their top performers, the discussions never stop. From the studio of experts to the streets, anything that is spoken about revolves around this mega-battle. As we gear up to descend into high-octane cricket in Ahmedabad in less than a day’s time, here are the top three run-scorers for India against Pakistan in the World Cup.

1.    Sachin Tendulkar – 313 runs

The Master Blaster has racked up almost all the records that could ever have been racked up by a batter. When it comes to leading the charts for scoring runs against Pakistan, he aces the list with a staggering 313 runs from just five games at a brilliant average of 78.25. Despite the glistening numbers, Sachin didn’t score a single century against Pakistan. His highest score of 98 in 2003 still remains a memorable knock for the Indian fans. Scoring at a strike rate of 83.24 and an average of 78.25, Sachin has three fifties against the Men in Green.

2.    Virat Kohli – 193 runs

Virat has been a part of three fixtures against Pakistan in World Cups. While he started off slow in 2011, he  came back roaring in 2015 and 2019. He has amassed 193 runs at an average of 64.33 and a strike rate of 91.03. His century in 2015 against Pakistan got him the Player of the Match award while he followed that up with another resonating performance in 2019.

3.    Rohit Sharma – 155 runs

The Indian captain has featured in just got a couple of games against Pakistan in the World Cup but those numbers look extremely brilliant. From the two matches that he has played, he has smashed 155 runs at an average of 77.50 and a strike rate of 116.54. His 140 in 2019 still remains a knock of wonder that blew away Pakistan in a rain-soaked encounter.
