Records were smashed in large numbers as Team India squashed Bangladesh mercilessly to complete a humdinger clean sweep of the visitors. Hyderabad stayed witness to a flurry of fireworks as Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav rewrote the bounds of T20I cricket as India registered their biggest win against Bangladesh in the shortest format of the game.

Winning the toss, India opted to bat first. Abhishek Sharma (4) did fall early while trying to match the tempo of Sanju Samson at the other end. But much to the woes of the visitors, an incoming Suryakumar Yadav held the reins of the game with firm hands and Samson came out all guns blazing. It was a crazy show from the two hard-hitters of the side who were relentless in terms of their batting salvo.

Samson smacked Rishad Hossain for five sixes in an over while SKY kept the breezy momentum rolling. The duo added 173 runs for the second wicket from just 69 balls, leaving Bangladesh clueless before they could breathe a sigh of reprieve with the all-important wicket of Samson (111). The India fell in quick succession for another destructive 75 from just 35 balls. Despite the double whammy, India were yanked back to track by the duo of Hardik Pandya (47) and Riyan Parag (34) as the two added 70 runs from just 25 balls for the fourth wicket.

India finished with a tally of 297/6, their highest ever total in a T20I fixture, bettering their earlier feat of 278/3 against Afghanistan in 2019. None of the Bangladeshi bowlers were spared. Tanzim Hasan Sakib did claim three wickets but at the expense of 66 runs from his allotment of four overs.

The hosts hit a lightning bolt against Bangladesh straight up as Mayank Yadav removed Parvez Hasan Emon for a golden duck. Tanzid Hasan (15) and Najmul Hossain Shanto (14) did come together for a small partnership but that wasn’t enough to stall the Indian infringements. Washington Sundar got rid of Hasan while Ravi Bishnoi was back to the side claimed the Bangladeshi skipper.

Liton Das (42) and Towhid Hridoy (63*) did come together for an important partnership as the duo added 53 runs for the fourth wicket but that wasn’t enough for the visitors to chase down the monumental total that was on board. India restricted Bangladesh to 164/7, securing a victory by a staggering 133 runs, which is their third-highest win in a T20I fixture.

Ravi Bishnoi was the pick of the lot with figures of 4-1-30-1 while he had apt company from Mayank Yadav who claimed a brace at the expense of just 32 runs. Sanju Samson won the Player of the Match award for his incredible 111 off just 47 balls while Hardik Pandya was the Player of the Series for another triumphant all-round performance, amassing 118 runs at a tempestuous rate while claiming a wicket in the series.
