India-W to host West Indies and Ireland as part of 2022-25 Future Tours Programme
Indian women are all set to host West Indies and Ireland for a couple of white-ball tours in December and January. The series against West Indies which has been made a part of the 2022-25 Future Tours Programme (FTP) will see Team India play three T20Is in Navi Mumbai, followed by three ODIs in Vadodara in the ensuing month.
Apart from the Windies coming down to India, the Women in Blue will also be hosting Ireland. There will be three ODIs in the sequence hosted by Rajkot in January 2025, and notably, it will be Ireland’s first-ever bilateral series in India.
The T20Is against West Indies will be played on December 15th, 17th and 19th while the ODIs will be played on December 22nd, 24th and 27th. Ireland and India will be duking it out for three ODIs on January 10th, 12th and 15th. Both these tournaments will be a part of the ICC Women’s Championship.
These tournaments will kick-start an important preparation period for India ahead of the 50-over World Cup which is slated to be played in the next year. Apart from West Indies and Ireland, India has another important tour coming up where they will travel Down Under in order to play three ODIs.
The Women in Blue will be coming fresh from a series triumph against New Zealand as they wrested the sequence by an emphatic 2-1 margin after Smriti Mandhana came out on top to blast a full-blown ton while Deepti Sharma’s consistent performance throughout the series left the White Ferns rattled.
