India-W hopeful of crafting history against soaring Australia-W in series decider

Navi Mumbai will play host to an exciting series decider later this evening as the Indian women are all set to square off against Australia in the final T20I. The Indian women registered a historic Test win against the visitors following which they were grounded miserably in the ODIs. 

However, as the shortest format of the game knocked on the doors, the Women in Blue started on a barnstorming note ensued by Ellyse Perry leading Australia to remarkable turnaround in the second T20I despite the visitors losing important wickets to make it all square in the series.

At the moment it has all boiled down to the final T20I, the series decider that will give the team a chance at penning history with the Indian women still to clinch a T20I series against Australia.

The bowling for the Indian women has been impressive, featuring the likes of Titas Sadhu, Shreyanka Patil and Deepti Sharma but the inconsistency with the bat in their hands continues to be a burning issue. Australia, on the contrary, can be a hard side to beat, particularly in clutch contests like these. Expect another swashbuckler to unfurl ahead of us as the two powerhouses of women’s cricket collide.

Venue Watch:

Batting first has been a challenge on the surface with it spewing its own brand of venom. The ball has been moving early on while later in the innings, despite things easing down slightly, the earlier baggage has been a bit too overwhelming for the batters to brave. The team batting second has had a decent bit of advantage with the dew coming into play.
