India to undergo a three-day-quarantine before they travel to South Africa
As India is heading towards a blockbuster year-ending, they will be up against the mighty Proteas away from home. However, this tour will be going amidst the likes of a new scare called the Omicron variant.
With the unwanted advent of the new variant, different authorities are calling in their own sets of preventive measures to curb the spread of the virus. Going by the latest reports, the Indian cricket team will be undergoing a three-day-quarantine before they take off for South Africa.
The Indian cricket team has gathered in a five-star hotel to complete the bio-security protocols. The team will be leaving for Johannesburg on Wednesday (December 16) via a charter flight.
India will be part of three Test matches and three ODIs in South Africa. However, currently, only India’s Test team will be travelling to the Rainbow Nation.
Navdeep Saini, Saurabh Kumar, Deepak Chahar, Arzan Nagswallam, Hanuma Vihari and Vivek Ramakrishna (trainer) who were a part of the India A team have stayed back in South Africa.
India will be coming to the fixture on the back of a stunning victory against New Zealand at home and will be buoyed by the return of their skipper, Virat Kohli at the helm of affairs.
