India to play two T20Is in the USA as part of their West Indies tour

Cricket West Indies has corroborated the rumours of India being a part of two T20 games in the US. In a detailed statement issued by the CWI, it said, “The eight-match India white-ball tour concludes with an exciting weekend of back-to-back T20I fixtures at the Broward County Cricket Stadium in Lauderhill, Florida from August 6 and 7.”

Going by the reports of Cricbuzz, the tour will be kickstarting on July 22 in Trinidad and Tobago with three ODIs. They will be spanning until the 27th of the same month and all the first three fixtures will be unfolding at Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain. The statement further added, “The first T20I on Friday, July 29 will be historic as the first-ever Men's T20I to be played at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in the south of Trinidad. The venue for the back-to-back second and third T20I matches is Warner Park, St Kitts, coinciding with Emancipation Day and Culturama holiday celebrations there.”

As far as the reports suggest, the CWI had to hold for quite a while before they could announce the schedule as the US cricket authority struggled to find the right chord of balance that would have helped them to look past the internal conflicts that they are currently plagued by.

John Grave, CEO of CWI quoted, “We know our supporters will be delighted with the news that the matches are being played all across the region as well as those living in the USA will be able to see their favourite players in action.” The Indian team will be travelling to West Indies in the third week of July.
