India will be travelling to Sri Lanka for a Test series after nine staggering years as the two continental neighbours will contest in a two-match series. The first Test is slated to be played from August 15th while the second Test will be played from August 23rd.

The last time India visited Sri Lanka for a red-ball series was back in 2017 where India thrashed the hosts 3-0.

The upcoming series will be a part of the ongoing World Test Championship in which India exactly isn’t flying high. After a 2-0 defeat against South Africa at home, India currently finds themselves in the fifth position with four wins and four losses from nine games.

India has won five Tests on the bounce in Sri Lanka and has been undefeated since 2008. As far as the schedule goes, India will be playing their first Test in Galle while the second clash will be duked out in Colombo.
