India should treat England just like Australia: Kiran More

The much-awaited England’s tour of India begins on February 5th with the four-match Anthony de Mello Test series. Both the teams are coming into this fixture with comprehensive Test series wins against Australia and Sri Lanka respectively. Former wicket-keeper batsman, Kiran More opines that India shouldn’t take England lightly and must treat them like the Australians in terms of competitiveness that needs to be shown on the field.

“India will definitely do well, but the England team always comes well prepared. They give you surprises. They have two quality spinners in their team also. After the Australia win, India shouldn't take England lightly,” Kiran More told Times of India.

A session can change the course of a Test match

“India should treat England just like Australia. You can't take anyone lightly in Test cricket. Every session is a different session in Test cricket,” he added.

Alastair Cook and Kevin Pietersen were the pinnacles of success for the Three Lions in 2012 tour, England hopes that Joe Root and Ben Stokes will play such roles in order to succeed against India.

“Root and Stokes will be England's key players against India. Root performed really well in Sri Lanka and is in magnificent form. England has a good batting line up, their fast bowlers are outstanding, their spinners have done really well in Sri Lanka,” More said.

England began their sub-continent tour as a well prepared side

“If you look at them overall, they are very well prepared. In Sri Lanka where England has played, it was a rank turner. They scored well and then got Sri Lanka out twice,” he concluded.
