India hope to finish World Cup group stages with an unblemished record
It’s time for India’s final group stage fixture of World Cup 2023 as they brace themselves for a challenge against a Netherlands team which has come a long way so far, stunning the likes of South Africa and Bangladesh. However, with that being said, it’s an entirely different ball game when it comes to India as the Men in Blue are still to be beaten in this edition of the tournament.
For the Indian cricket team, it is of utmost importance that they maintain the winning momentum before they head into the semi-finals, particularly with the Kiwi challenge looming large. The idea of shuffling the side just ahead of the semis may not be crossing the minds of Rahul Dravid but he would also like to test his bench strength if the need arises.
Going by the tournament so far, Netherlands will be trying to forge another upset that can be a game-changer for both the sides as the Orange Army would remember this day in Bengaluru forever while the Indian cricket team would like to keep their momentum at all costs.
With that being said, when the two sides clash, irrespective of their strength on paper, the match would witness a battle of equal proportions and some heavy exchange of haymakers to decide the fate of this clash at Namma Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Venue Watch:
Knowing the surface of Bengaluru, it always has a lot to offer to the batters and there will be plenty of assistance for the team batting second considering the dew factor coming in. However, with that being said, playing the new ball under the lights has been a serious challenge as well. A total of 42 ODIs have been played here out of which 15 have been won batting first while 23 have been won batting second. The average score batting first is 236 while the average score chasing is 216.
