India eye confidence with a strong performance against Netherlands

The Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram will play host to India’s final warm-up game, against Netherlands, ahead of  the commencement of the global extravaganza’s opening encounter on October 5th. With every equation being sought out, with all permutations and combinations being worked out, the Men in Blue will hope to go into the World Cup with players roaring in confidence.

As far as the clash against Netherlands is concerned, India might look to give the seniors a good hit in the middle, given the first warm-up game against England was washed out.

With all said and done, for the Men in Blue, it is more about quickly having a look at their bench strength as well, considering the kind of long format that the World Cup will be coming with this time. It can be an arduous couple of months for all the cricketers and it will be important for the team management as well, to rotate the side frequently enough to keep the players fresh, both physically and mentally.

Netherlands, on the contrary, left the Australian batting unit flummoxed as their bowlers did well to dampen the Aussie spirits in a rain-soaked affair. However, their batters had a significant stutter that almost left them clawing after Mitchell Starc claimed a hat-trick up front.

Coming into this game as the underdogs, the Orange Army would obviously be hoping to spark an upset that will be a massive confidence booster for the entire unit. Netherlands, who barely get too many matches against the top sides of international cricket will be hoping to prove their mettle in this warm-up fixture which can be a major blessing for their cricket’s offing.
