India eye another impressive outing as T20I series against Bangladesh commences

After calling the shots emphatically in the recently concluded Test series, Team India is all set to rock and roll against Bangladesh from tomorrow in a three-match T20I series. The Sri Lanka series win ushered in a new dawn for the World Champions under the chaperonage of Gautam Gambhir, and the Men in Blue will look to add further sheen to their already bedecked records in cricket’s fastest lane.

Since the conclusion of the T20 World Cup in June, India have won seven out of their eight T20I games, exuding brilliance. Even though Zimbabwe did upset them early in the five-match series, the young guns of Team India were up and rolling and were quick to rally back in the latter’s backyard. With new faces coming in, paving the path for a new dawn for the Men in Blue in the shortest format of the game, Gautam Gambhir will be hopeful of building a formidable team for the future as well.

Bangladesh, on the contrary, haven’t played any series since the T20 World Cup. And they will be eyeing to hit the road running, especially after a shock defeat to Afghanistan in their last Super Six fixture in the biennial extravaganza earlier this year. However, leading to the World Cup, they had a decent run with a 4-1 series triumph against Bangladesh but was upstaged by USA as the latter pipped them with a 2-1 defeat in a three-match series.

Venue Watch:

As international cricket returns to Gwalior after a staggering 14 years, it is going to be a massive matter of moot about how the surface will react. This is a brand new surface that stats have little to say, but the black soil surface could mean this will be a low and slow surface.
