Within just three days from now, the Super 12 stage of the T20 World Cup will be upon us and the mercury is already boiling through the roof about various speculations and the cardinal question of any grand showpiece event which says “Who do you think will be a part of the final”?

If truth be told, the possibilities are endless and with the kind of firepower that every single team will be coming to the fray with, it is very hard to predict the eventual finalists who would be jousting for the hallowed silverware at the end of the day.

Team India has so far been in a mildly green patch that saw them pipping the hosts by 6 runs in a warm-up match, which serves as a decent reminder of the kind of brilliance that the Men in Blue brings to the table. While the hosts have suffered a recent slump after England walked out with a T20I series just ahead of the World cup, they still stay strong as a contender, given the immense depth in their ranks.

We are all aware of how these two teams can be almost regular deliverers of goods at the grandest stages of all. Echoing these sentiments, former Indian opener, Sunil Gavaskar and erstwhile Australian all-rounder, Tom Moody answered one of the most asked questions on the planet now which goes by, “Who do you think will be playing in the finals”.

Speaking on Star Sports, Gavaskar said, “India, definitely. And because I am in Australia, I am going to say Australia.” Moody, however, stepped an inch ahead and predicted the final four, stating, “I am going to give you the top four. Australia, and England will go through from their group. I think Pakistan and India would be leading the other group. The finalists, I have to say Australia and India.”

As India’s last warm-up game against New Zealand was washed away without a ball being bowled, Team India will now be heading to Melbourne as they gear up for the big battle of the two timeless arch-rivals.
