India and Pakistan clash in new chapter of exciting rivalry in T20 World Cup 2024
After a brilliant start to the T20 World Cup that saw Team India calling the shots against Ireland, they will be hopeful of making it a double as one of the biggest challenges of the tournament await them. In a clash of the arch-rivals on a jam-packed Sunday evening, India and Pakistan collide at the Nassau International County Stadium.
In the first game that saw India take on Ireland, the bowlers got the job done for the Men in Blue while their captain Rohit Sharma’s unbeaten half-century set a perfect win for his men with apt support from Rishabh Pant. Despite Virat Kohli registering a rare flop, it goes without saying that Team India will be looking forward to their batting ace leading the charge again.
Pakistan was stunned by an undercooked USA in their tournament opener but the kind of force that the Men in Green are, they will be raring to turn the tide back in their favour and what better opportunity than to take the clash of the arch-rivals head on. Irrespective of the previous results, both the teams will be desperate to live up to their heightened billing.
Venue Watch:
The venue has already popped a few eyeballs as ICC had to leap into action trying to fix the surface which produced a handful of unexpected bouncers in the last couple of games hurting players. Apart from that the pitch has exuded spongy bounce leaving the batters in quite a worry. With two teams from the sub-continent stepping up, the surface can be another major challenge for both the powerhouses to brave.
