In this format you have to adapt to the conditions – Jasprit Bumrah
The Indian bowlers dictated the proceedings in their first match of the T20 World Cup as they blew away the Irish batters in a heartbeat. Out of the 10 wickets that fell which saw Ireland bowled out for 96, the pacers claimed nine wickets while Axar Patel claimed one for himself.
Hardik Pandya led the charge for sure with figures of 3/27 but Jasprit Bumrah rattled the spine of the Irish innings with figures of 3-1-6-2 as he walked away with the Player of the Match award. He started with the scalp of Harry Tector and left Joshua Little completely in the ocean with a low fizzling toe-crusher.
Talking at the post-match award show, Bumrah said, “Coming from India, with the ball seaming around, I wouldn't complain when there's help for bowlers. In this format you have to adapt to the conditions, you have to be proactive.”
He concluded by saying, “Trying to stick to the plans and trying to go back to what has worked for me. You always want to cover all the bases in these conditions. You got to be prepared, very happy with the outing today.”
