Impressed with the way Prabhudessai played: Faf du Plessis
After an impressive run of three wins, the Challengers slumped to their second defeat of the season as a long-haul chase of 217 fell short by 23 runs in the end, despite a desperate lunge by the lower middle-order.
It was an off day in office for the RCB bowlers as they failed to find their stride. Despite Hazlewood’s decent figures and Hasaranga’s late brace, the Kings had enough on the cards already.
At the end of the day, RCB skipper Faf opened up about the unfortunate defeat. “First 7-8 overs were pretty good, then there was a period from 8-14 where Dube took the spinners on. That period, whatever we tried didn't work. In order to chase down such a big score, you need one of the first four to set the foundation. We didn't have that. CSK used their spinners well on a pitch that had some grip. The way we came back was credit to the depth. You see the value of Harshal, and what he offers. He has the ability to stop the game. We missed that tonight, we had a similar tone to the bowling. We lacked the variety we needed in our attack. Hopefully we can have him soon again," he said.
Speaking about the debutant Suyash Prabhudessai, "Impressed with the way Prabhudessai played the way he did on debut,” added the RCB captain.
The Challengers will be up against the mighty fine Delhi Capitals for their next assignment that will be played on Saturday.
