In the modern era of cricket, the availability of all-rounders has been one of the hottest talking points in all formats of the game. Especially in the shortest format of the game, all-rounders bring an added layer of utility and can manage a handful of overs in the center, allowing captains to rotate their options better.

India has a couple of excellent all-rounders in Axar Patel and Shivam Dube and the latter proved once again, how his presence uplifted the Indian innings. Dube smashed 42 off just 21 runs, offering a fine boost to the Indian innings at the tail end. Talking at the pre-match presser, India’s bowling coach, Morne Morkel opened up on how all-rounders reshape the contours of a game, especially in T20s.

Reflecting on the importance of all-rounders, Morne Morkel said, “I think as an all-rounder, you know, is there anybody in particular you refer to, but I think it's always, you know, good to have those options, you know, if you can give them two overs to get through or one over to get through, and then you can always rotate your bowling unit around that. But, yeah, I'm always a big fan for having that all-round option into your side that can give you the balance with the bat and ball.”
