Recently concluded Australia vs India series produced some high-quality cricket where matches went to the last hour of the last day, treating fans with the kind of thrillers they had been expecting with two top teams meeting in a four-match Test series.

And now the International Cricket Council has graded all the four pitches ‘very good’ manifesting the belief that the host Australia indeed managed to produce sporting wickets allowing both teams to have a fair chance.

Even the pitch in Adelaide where the Indian team was bundled for 36 all-out in their second innings was rated 'good-very good' (for pitch and outfield). The match had lasted just three days.

Reacting to the ratings, Cricket Australia chief Earl Eddings told Cricbuzz, "We at the CA always strive to make sure that the pitches are good and provide for outstanding matches."

"The pitches were very consistent. They were not exceptionally seaming or exceptionally turning. On the fourth and fifth days, there was variable bounce, which was good. They were excellent Test pitches," Daljit Singh, the former head of grounds and pitches committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.
