I would be going with Shami: Tom Moody makes his pick for India’s third pacer against Pakistan

Come Sunday, the cricketing world will be split into two factions as India takes on Pakistan in a classic swashbuckler, hoping to get a victorious start to their campaign and secure early momentum.

A major talking point ahead of Sunday’s prized clash is that of who will be constituting India’s pace attack, especially under such dire circumstances where a lot of runs have been leaked in the death overs and they will also be without their primary fast bowler, Jasprit Bumrah.

The main debate that follows is for the spot of the third pacer and who it should be. However, as we are aware of the fact that Australia’s pitches offer significant assistance to the pacers, there is a probability that India may even go for four fast bowlers.

Former Australian cricketer, Tom Moody had a word or two about who should be the third quick for Team India, keeping in mind all possible developments. Talking on Star Sports Show ‘Game Plan’, Moody said, “I would be going with Shami. I'd just go with his experience. Obviously, Bhuvi and Arshdeep are the first two. I just think that in big tournaments, you back big players. And he is a big player with a lot of experience. He may be short with some volume in his bowling, but that one over he bowled against Australia would have gone a long way with regards to not so much the physical side of things, but definitely the mental side of things.”

Only time will tell who would be making the cut for the big contest at Melbourne as two of cricket’s most reckoning forces come face to face. However, no matter the line-up, the excitement levels are already through the roof and Team India will be desperate to have a winning start to their campaign.
