It was a fine race to the top of the run-scoring charts in IPL 2026 as Vaibhav Sooryavanshi concluded it with the Orange Cap on his head after scoring 776 runs. In a heartfelt moment, his role model, Virat Kohli walked up to the young southpaw after RCB's game against RR and offered him words of gold.

Now, in a recent video shared by the Rajasthan Royals, Vaibhav revealed the golden advice from the King and how he has always admired Kohli while growing up. He revealed how the chat with Kohli felt like a dream come true for the youngster.

Sooryavanshi said, “To tell you the truth, when Virat bhaiya (brother) put his hand on my shoulder... I used to be an RCB fan before. Actually, I was a very, very big fan of Virat Kohli. So when he put his hand on my shoulder and started talking to me, it actually felt like a dream. The way he spoke, it didn't even feel like he was actually Virat Kohli.”

He further added, “He spoke to me like an elder brother, explaining what I was doing well, what more I could do, what I should focus on, where I should direct my attention, and what I should aim for in the future.”

Sooryavanshi concluded by stating how he kept Virat’s autographed cap very close to him, stating, “I wore that cap a lot. When I didn't have the Orange Cap with me, I would wear that one.”
