Indian badminton ace Lakshya Sen grabbed the limelight after putting up an inspiring fight against Viktor Axelsen in the Paris Olympics 2024. Although he just missed out on a medal, Sen did draw the praises from the badminton stalwart and vowed to come back stronger.

In getting back to his best, one of the most obvious big names that he wants to follow the footsteps of is that of Virat Kohli. Talking on the TRS Podcast, Sen said that he is willing to walk the extra mile and become the VK of his discipline, a statement that drew instant attention from the fans and the experts alike.

Lakshya said, “I want to be the Virat Kohli of Indian badminton in the coming years – he has done a lot for Indian cricket.” Kohli is known for his incredible batting flair while his fitness at the age of 35 years still continues to drive a number of fans.

Lakshya Sen is currently involved in a struggle to regain his fitness and in the process, he will be travelling to Austria for rigorous training. In September, he will be back to the badminton court in order to prove a point about himself.

In the hallowed semi-finals of the 2024 Summer Games in Paris, Lakshya lost to Viktor Axelsen. Following the defeat he was locked in another fierce battle against Malaysia’s Lee Zii Jia in the bronze medal match and came up the second best in the contest.
