I think Virat Kohli leads from the front: Brad Hogg

Split captaincy - a term that has been seeing some broad daylight debates in recent times. Should the Indian team adopt such a policy?

Post-2020 Dream11 Indian Premier League, many cricket experts opined that five-time IPL winning captain Rohit Sharma should lead the Indian T20I side. And now after the recently concluded Border Gavaskar Trophy, many want Ajinkya Rahane to be made the captain of the Test side.

Would it be right for Team India to have captains for each of the formats? Former Australia cricketer turned expert Brad Hogg expressed his concern that if something like this were to happen, it would be horrifying for India cricket.

"He (Virat Kohli) bats better when he is the captain. I think if you change it, it would destroy the culture of that Indian team. It might affect Kohli's batting. He wouldn't want it to happen, but it will happen," Brad Hogg said during a Q&A session of his YouTube channel.

The veteran leg spinner showered rich praises to vice-captain, Rahane but, sees Virat Kohli as the head of the table.

"Yes, Ajinkya Rahane has done a fantastic job in the last three Test matches in Australia. He is cool, calm, and collective. He is quite decisive, and he doesn't get agitated. He is a fantastic leader. But I will leave him as vice-captain because I think Virat Kohli leads from the front," Hogg added.
