I love our bowling attack – Josh Hazlewood after RCB’s thrilling win against RR

Josh Hazlewood delivered an absolute masterclass to propel RCB’s stunning win over RR, finally lifting the Chinnaswamy curse in IPL 2025.
In the 19th over of the game, he claimed the crucial wickets of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shimron Hetmyer despite proving to be expensive in the first couple of overs.
With RR needing 18 runs off 12 balls, Hazlewood not just two took wickets but also conceded just a solitary run - leaving the RE dugout shocked at the way the game turned out at the end.
Eventually, Hazlewood won the Player of the Match award for an incredible performance featuring a match-winning four-fer.
Talking at the post-match presentation, Hazlewood revealed the key elements of his plan against RR while also shedding light on the importance of data collected by the analysts. He also underlined how the bounce on the surface of Chinnaswamy has proved to be a pivotal point in the ongoing IPL.
Revealing his plans, Hazlewood said, “First of all was sticking to your strengths. Knew the hard length was tough to hit on this wicket, mixing it up with the odd yorker, the slower balls and the order in which to bowl them was the way to go.”
He also expressed his love for the format, stating, “Opportunity to play the format, did not have the opportunity with Test cricket and then ODI cricket. First it is Sydney Sixers, CSK and now RCB, these are the three teams majorly and a bit for Australia as well. Taking information from different pieces and putting it all together.”
Hoff concluded by talking about the overall balance of the team, stating, “One of the big keys for us is to get the information to the group as well. I love our bowling attack. I feel we have got every base covered, everyone has their days and we are doing well. The bounce is quite steep here throughout the whole tournament, getting that score was phenomenal. I feel that was well-above par and the guys did a really great job.”
