I just can’t wait for the night to get back to the field and play my first game: Glenn Maxwell

Glenn Maxwell is one of the most explosive names in the shortest format of the game. He has always been known for bringing out the big guns whenever his team needed him. He has been going through a dream phase that has seen him finishing as the leading run-scorer for the Challengers in IPL 2021, lifting the ICC T20 World Cup, setting the record for the highest individual score in the Big Bash League, and getting married, all within a span of 6 months.

He joined the RCB camp on the 3rd of April and was in the dugout during the win against the Rajasthan Royals. He will be available for selection against the Mumbai Indians in their upcoming game.

In the latest episode of RCB Bold Diaries, talking about one of the best phases of his life, he said, “There has certainly been some dance about that. It has been a busy time as well. First, it was the World Cup and from there I straight flew to the BBL. There were a few highs in the tournament, too. It was a disappointment of sorts as I didn’t get it all roses.”

He further added, “I have done the job with RCB before that. And then getting married, all of it was pretty amazing. There was a lot of cricket going around the world. It was altogether an amazing time. I feel pretty glad to be here now. All the stress is over. I am looking forward to getting started here.”

Talking about his fitness, Maxwell said, “I am glad that I look fit. I haven’t really done much in the last few days. I suppose I have played a couple of games at Victoria at the backend of the season and there wasn’t really much cricket at all. I then prepared to get married and concentrated on that and enjoyed those couple of weeks. I was looking forward to getting married here. I had to wait from the time I landed here till the first game I was playing. I wanted to use the preparation time and know that I could get myself match-ready for the first game. I just can’t wait for the night to get back to the field and play my first game.”
