Arshdeep Singh delivered a match-winning performance last night where he reigned supreme on a track that was producing unprecedented seam and the kind of movement that he generated both ways wrote a few bright things on the wall.

He claimed three important wickets, all of which came in his very first over, leaving the visitors reeling in arrant agony. The first victim to his scorching swing was the big scalp of Quinton de Kock who played onto his own stumps. This was followed by another out-swinger that claimed Rilee Rossouw and an absolute screamer that removed the menacing David Miller for the first golden duck of his T20I career.

He was awarded as the Man of the Match for his defining performance against the Proteas where he claimed figures of 3 for 32. He dished out a very heart-warming speech at the post-match conference where he was extremely grateful for the award that was given to him.

Arshdeep said, “I have been thinking about the Man of the Match speech and was excited. I was thinking what it should be if I ever managed to bag this award at the international stage.”

Talking about the significant help that he received from the other end that came in the form of Deepak Chahar, he said, “There was a lot of help from the surface, and DC (Deepak Chahar) bhai set the tone and I just wanted to execute the plans.”

He saved a special message for the insiwinger that castled David Miller as he said, “Loved the wicket of David Miller, he was expecting the outswinger, but I got that to swing in. So that was great.”
