I back my style – Richa Ghosh on her fine batting showdown against MI

Richa Ghosh enjoyed another fine WPL season as she racked up 230 runs from eight matches in WPL 2025. She started the season with an unbeaten 64, propelling RCB to a historic run-chase against Gujarat Giants. She followed it up with another crucial 28 against Mumbai Indians. Despite not ending on the winning side, that cameo was instrumental for RCB to push the game until the penultimate ball of the innings.
Despite hitting a bit of a bump along the way, she came stronger in the last couple of fixtures, rocking a sensational 69 against UP Warriorz while smashing a fine 36 against the Mumbai Indians. She was a part of two crucial partnerships, one with Kanika Ahuja in the season opener against the Giants while the other came with Ellyse Perry against Mumbai Indians in RCB's last match of the season.
Talking in a post-match interview, Richa Ghosh summed up her innings and pointed out what really went right for her. She said, “The season was good for me, the ball was going off the bat well and it was good for me as a batter. Whenever I have time, I spend time on my batting. If we lose quick wickets, how I should bat and help the team - that's what I worked on this season.”
She concluded by shedding some light about her style and how the team gelled during the season, stating, “I back my style and then react as to how the ball is behaving from the pitch. I feel good when I stop the ball as a wicket-keeper and I'm enjoying it. There was good bonding in the team and in the camp.”
