I am gutted that I won’t be a part of the T20 World Cup: Jasprit Bumrah
Jasprit Bumrah opened up after being ruled out of the T20 World Cup with a stress related injury to his back. He was ruled out of the South Africa series after complaining of a back pain ahead of the first T20I, following which scans revealed that he had a major stress injury which would need at least 6 weeks of recovery.
After being ruled out of the biennial extravaganza, Bumrah took to Twitter as he opened up on his heartbreak of failing to make the World Cup squad. Being a part of the showpiece event is dream for any cricketer and Bumrah has proven over the years, how valuable he is to the Indian side, leading the Men in Blue’s pace attack.
I am gutted that I won’t be a part of the T20 World Cup this time, but thankful for the wishes, care and support I’ve received from my loved ones. As I recover, I’ll be cheering on the team through their campaign in Australia 🇮🇳 pic.twitter.com/XjHJrilW0d

Bumrah said, “I am gutted that I won’t be a part of the T20 World Cup this time, but thankful for the wishes, care and support I’ve received from my loved ones. As I recover, I’ll be cheering on the team through their campaign in Australia.”
The ace Indian quick was previously ruled out of the Asia Cup after copping another stress related injury, post which he made the squads for the Australia and the South Africa series. Much to his woes, he couldn’t conjure something significant against the Kangaroos, and even before he could participate in the series against South Africa, the unthinkable unfolded.
On Monday, BCCI ruled out Bumrah of the upcoming extravaganza, as their statement read, “The BCCI Medical team has ruled out Team India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah from the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup squad. The decision was taken following a detailed assessment and in consultation with the specialists.”
