He's calm, quiet, soft-spoken, and very well-spoken: Deep Dasgupta on Virat Kohli
One of the most polarizing topics in the world of cricket is Virat Kohli’s attitude on the field.
The India skipper loves taking the fight to the opposition and is never shy of expressing his emotions. He thrives on the challenges and has built his game on that.
But the cricketing fraternity is divided over how the RCB skipper needs to conduct on the field, without taking into account the importance of passion on the field. While, there have been sportspersons who are a sea of calm all the time, soaking it all in with an expressionless face.
Kohli is the polar opposite and has managed to use his expressive self to usher in a fighting spirit in the Indian side.
In an interaction on YouTube, former India wicketkeeper Deep Dasgupta revealed a side of Kohli many tend to either ignore or not notice.
“He's calm, quiet, soft-spoken, and very well-spoken too. But once he steps on the field, his attitude changes. I think that's his way of motivating himself. If that works for him, and I have said this [before], it's absolutely fine. At the end of the day, you want him to score runs. How he scores runs, how he wins games for India, we'll leave that to him,” Dasgupta said.
“With Virat, the thing is, personally the way he behaves helps him motivate himself. That’s how he gets himself going. If you meet him off the field, he's one of the calmest people you'll come across,” he added.
