He’s an exciting player to watch – RCB stars open up on Jacob Bethell’s lively persona

Young English all-rounder, Jacob Bethell, left a lasting impression on his teammates in what was his first stint in the IPL. He scored a half-century in his very second game for the Royal Challengers which came against the Chennai Super Kings. As he leaves for his national duties, Tim David and Phil Salt opened up on an RCB Bold Diaries episode on the value Bethell added to the team.

Tim David said, “My first time getting to know Jacob and it’s been great to have him as a part of our group. He’s been very fun bringing in young energy. He’s been a great teammate to have around but he’s leaving us early to join us his real friends at the England team. So I'm looking forward to catching up with him and watching him. He’s an exciting player to watch.”

Phil Salt added, “Obviously, he’s had limited opportunity. But when he’s come in, you know to get 50 in his second game against CSK in what was a very big game for us. I couldn’t have been any more happy for him at the time. Although I am disappointed to have him leaving. I’ll miss his general noise in the dressing room. I’ll miss him coming up to me and talking about the biggest roll of garbage that you have ever heard in your life, every day (laughs).”
