He made all of them at different times look silly – Ricky Ponting on Jasprit Bumrah

Jasprit Bumrah proved to be the ultimate ace for Team India, spearheading their bowling charge in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. With 32 wickets to his name, he walked away with the Player of the Series award despite a back injury that kept him from bowling in Australia's second innings of the third Test at the SCG.

Despite missing out the opportunity to bowl in the second innings, his mere presence in the side provided an edge to Team India throughout the series. Talking to ICC, former Australian captain, Ricky Ponting showered the ultimate praise on the Indian ace quick.

Punter said, “No doubt, it's probably the best series of fast bowling I've ever seen. Yes, they had good conditions, the fast bowlers, for most of this series. But when you watched him (Bumrah) bowl compared to anyone else in the series, he made batting look so much harder.”

To accentuate the ripple effect of his own words, Ponting highlighted that Australia's batting unit did present a formidable challenge. However, Bumrah’s clinical accuracy made them look silly at times. Punter added, “There's a lot of quality batting in that Australian top-order as well but he made all of them at different times look silly.”
