Gurkeerat Singh – Current Form
26 Mar, 2020 By Editor

Gurkeerat Singh Mann has been a regular feature in Punjab's roster, with 98 T20 appearances and 56 first-class appearances. During the stint with India A, the cricketing fraternity witnessed a quantum leap in his performance graph. Gurkeerat's knock of 87 against a formidable Australia A team in the final of the Triangular Series offered a blueprint for his authoritative batting skills.

Assigned with a difficult position to bat, Gurkeerat has an inbred ability to score runs at a fair clip. Often seen as a one-format player: he made a statement with the willow after scoring 315 runs in just 4 matches in the 2015-16 Ranji Trophy at an impressive average of 63.

Gurkeerat displayed his red-ball prowess when he scored a double century against Railways in 2015. The all-rounder's significant show in the domestic season paid dividends as he earned a maiden call-up to the Indian side.

Gurkeerat Singh's stock as an all-rounder was significantly displayed in the recently concluded Ranji Trophy season. The 29-year-old scored 413 runs in 7 matches. Gurkeerat was equally brilliant with the ball as he picked up 12 wickets. The proficiency to score big, a decent off-spinner bred with his acrobatic acts on the field, makes him a complete package.

Gurkeerat Singh's ingenuity and multidimensional skills is a luxury for any captain to have. His inclusion brings about a proliferation of all-rounders in the RCB roster.

With Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and Parthiv Patel back into the hut while chasing a target of 175 runs. The 29-year-old came to the middle in an attempt to revive the run-chase against a well-oiled bowling unit of Sunrisers.

Gurkeerat's 48-ball stay at the crease was laced with 8 boundaries and one maximum. The Punjab all-rounder pulled off an improbable run-chase at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, thus providing the template of his proficiency with the bat lower down the order.

After a brilliant domestic season, Gurkeerat is keen to make a statement with his multidimensional skills for the Bangalore franchise.
