Gujarat Titans clash against Mumbai Indians with a chance to grab the top spot on the IPL 2023 points table
Defending champions Gujarat Titans will be eager to put on a show in front of their home fans as Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians come visiting in the 35th match of IPL 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Both teams have endured a similar campaign this season, although the Titans have four wins to show from their six matches, while MI have one less from an equal number of games. MI, though, have a lot to do in terms of the points table, with Rohit’s men currently languishing in the bottom half in the 7th spot with a poor net run rate of -0.254.
And although MI come into the clash on the back of a loss to the Punjab Kings, they will take in confidence from the fact that Gujarat have won only one out of their three home games, a statistic that will undoubtedly put some pressure on Hardik Pandya’s men.
However, the Titans will take heart from their stunning bowling effort against the Lucknow Super Giants in their previous game, where the former defended 31 runs off 36 balls to seal a headline-worthy win.
There’s a lot on the line from today’s clash as MI have a chance to move into the top half of the points table, while for the Titans, they will be sniffing at an opportunity to take top spot on the points table if they put up a commanding performance on the day.
