Gameday Bold Diaries: “All of us are so very excited” - Faf du Plessis expresses thoughts ahead of RCB vs CSK clash

As we gear up for the mega RCB vs CSK rivalry to kick off this year’s IPL, the latest RCB Bold Diaries video relayed out the emotions that are prevalent in the camp. From Dinesh Karthik to Faf du Plessis, the RCB stars voiced out their opinion ahead of the upcoming curtain-raiser.

DK said, “What a proud legacy we have. We went to the Unbox event. It’s packed. Our fans are very very loyal and all they want us to do is fight and win games of cricket.” 

Shedding some light on the surface, Karthik said, “When I look at this pitch, it looks like a good pitch to bat on. It will be a great game. These are two good teams. We will be putting our front foot forward and do the best that we can.”

Captain Faf said, “It’s been a really great week. Andy and Mo have done some incredible things. We’ve really gelled together as a squad. It’s been good preparation. Obviously, what better way you can start the IPL than the game here tonight. Two of India’s greats, MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli are in the opening match of IPL, for them as well, all of us are so very excited.”

He also talked about the RCB fanbase adding, “We know that RCB’s 12th Man army is one of the most powerful fanbases in India. When you see them, you feel inspired and you feel the energy of the fans and you want to repay that with some really good performances.”

Coach Andy Flower said, “As a season opener, CSK vs RCB is an absolute ripper. Really looking forward to it personally. The boys are really fired up for it. It should be a great spectacle for everyone on the ground. What a great ground it is! Such a rich history! It’s a perfect start to the IPL.”

Andy continued, “The preparation in the season has been excellent in my view. Obviously every year, you are bringing a new squad together. There are always new players and sometimes new staff, particularly this season. It has been great fun getting to know people. Love the way the guys have prepared. They seem super hungry as you would expect at the start of an IPL season. I have worked with Faf du Plessis as captain before. He’s everything I expect him to be. I think we are very lucky to have him.”
