RCB’s star all-rounder for the season 2024, Swapnil’s tale of glory is something close to being cinematic.
With six wickets at an economy rate of 8.76 and 28 runs scored at a strike rate of 164.70, Swapnil Singh has been extremely instrumental for RCB ever since his introduction into the XI. Narrating his tale on RCB Bold Diaries, Swapnil revealed how he was almost on the cusp of giving it all up in the lookout for a new walk of life and then stars flipped.
Swapnil said, “The day the auction was happening, I was travelling to Dehradun for a Ranji Trophy game. When I landed it was around 7-8 PM and till then there weren’t any reports of me being roped in by any franchise and we were already in the last round. Frankly I felt like that it was all over and I kind of knew that was it for my cricket career as well. I was thinking that possibly the ongoing season would be my last and if needed another more year but that should be curtains. I didn’t want to play my entire life. To win the world there were other things as well. I was extremely disappointed. That is exactly when my family called me and we just broke down. Because no one thought…”
